This opportunity is based at Catalis’ office in Old Strathcona (Edmonton, Alberta). The Opportunity We are looking for a UI/UX Designer who can bridge the gap between business needs, user experience, and modern design. The ideal candidate will gain a deep understanding of our existing products, industry, and user workflows, then apply that knowledge to design a new application that is intuitive, cohesive, and visually appealing. This is a six-month contract role, based out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday, with the potential to transition into a permanent position. Responsibilities Develop a strong understanding of current products, user journeys, and industry practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business use-cases into clear, user-centered designs. Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that communicate design concepts effectively. Define and implement a modern, cohesive design system and set of common UI elements to be used across all company applications. Ensure consistency in visual design, usability, and accessibility across products. Work closely with developers to ensure successful implementation of design specifications. Requirements Qualifications Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role. Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in application design and usability. Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch). Ability to understand complex business requirements and simplify them into elegant user experiences. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
