The UK Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting DP World’s financial operations, with a particular focus on fixed assets and tax compliance across our London Gateway and Southampton sites. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and the successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented contributor with strong analytical and organisational skills.
Location: Essex OR Southampton, with occasional travel to the opposing site
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum AAT qualified.
  • Strong academic background.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • Oracle Fusion knowledge preferred.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload fluctuations.
  • Understanding of VAT and CIS essential.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
  • Strong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping and fixed asset accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Collate and submit capital expenditure reports to the Office of National Statistics.
  • Administer staff company credit cards, ensuring compliance and accurate VAT reclaims.
  • Reconcile charity and social committee accounts monthly.
  • Support internal and external audits and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Attend and support the annual company charity quiz event.
  • Perform other ad hoc financial reporting duties as required.
  • Travel between London Gateway and Southampton as needed.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role.
