JOB SUMMARY
UK Strategic Command (UKStratCom) is one of Defence’s four Commands. As Defence’s integrator, it brings together its subordinate organisations of Defence Intelligence, Headquarters Higher Level Budget (HQ HLB), Defence Digital, Defence Medical Services, Defence Support, operational command and oversight through the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Special Forces and Support to the Integrated Global Defence Network (IGDN). In addition, it is responsible for ensuring that the five warfighting domains of maritime, air, land, cyber and space are integrated which gives UKStratCom a pan-Defence role. The UKStratCom Headquarters’ staff provide the necessary strategy, planning, resource and capability oversight, governance and assurance support to the Commander.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Performance and Risk Team sit at the heart of UKStratCom Headquarters Strategic Centre, which is lead by 1* Deputy Director Plans and Portfolio Management. The team is responsible for setting clear Performance and Risk Management direction and guidance for all Higher Level Budgets (HLB) units within UKStratCom. The team organise and facilitate the 4* Performance and Risk board within the HQ, to support the Holding to Account process. They are responsible for collating and analysing performance and risk data from each HLB area, to provide clear and concise reporting for UKStratCom senior leaders and MOD Head Office.
The role within Performance and Risk Team will support in collating inputs and producing documentation. It should ensure that templates and guidance are produced and kept current and accurate. The role will hold secretariat responsibilities of the Performance and Risk board by organising meetings and managing stakeholder attendance. It will provide support to the Holding to Account process. You will also act as the main point of contact for queries and ensure efficient communication flow. You will have the opportunity to suggest innovative IT solutions to improve analysis and data presentation to influence high level decision making.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
