The Ukrop’s Professor / Assistant Professor of Marketing is responsible for teaching, scholarly research, and service within the School of Business. This role focuses on advancing the academic study and practical application of marketing through innovative instruction, mentorship, and community engagement. As the Ukrop’s Professor, the faculty member will also serve as a visible ambassador of university-industry collaboration, representing the legacy of the Ukrop family in entrepreneurship and ethical business practices.

EDUCATION

  • Ph.D. or DBA in Marketing or a closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates near completion may be considered for Assistant Professor role).
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly research.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate marketing courses (e.g., Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Analytics).
  • Conduct and publish peer-reviewed research in recognized marketing and business journals.
  • Present at academic conferences and contribute to the scholarly reputation of the university.
  • Pursue interdisciplinary and applied research that reflects market trends and community needs.
  • Serve on department, school, and university committees.
  • Mentor students in academic, career, and research advising.
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, especially within the Ukrop’s legacy network, to support student internships, experiential learning, and case studies.
  • Represent the university in marketing-related initiatives with regional and national stakeholders.
  • Organize guest lectures, speaker series, and workshops that connect students with professionals.
  • Promote ethical leadership and entrepreneurship in the spirit of the Ukrop family’s business philosophy.
