Description
Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a skilled and experienced ASNT Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Weld Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasonic testing and inspection of welds to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications. This role requires expertise in nondestructive testing techniques, with a focus on ultrasonic inspection, and an ability to document findings accurately. Responsibilities: Verify product is manufactured per EAS/industry standards and project documents Conduct ultrasonic testing (UT) of welds in accordance with ASNT Level 2 certification and applicable standards Perform inspections following client, company, and regulatory requirements Evaluate weld quality and identify potential defects such as cracks, porosity, or lack of fusion Interpret and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specified acceptance criteria Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation of findings Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment Provide recommendations for corrective actions or repairs based on inspection findings Train and mentor junior NDT personnel as needed Verify all product tests have been properly executed Verify test reports have been properly and accurately complete Ensure all project documentation is completed, gathered, and properly filed Education/Experience: A.S. in Business Administration, Engineering, Welding, HVAC, or other qualifying experience Certified Welding Inspector or NDT Level II Visual Testing Certification preferred You will be supported by on-the-job training and continued education training Minimum ten years’ experience in this industry or a related field will be considered in lieu of formal education as determined by management Job Requirements/Special Skills: Excellent documentation and communication skills (written and verbal) Experience in pipeline, structural steel, or pressure vessel inspections Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, BlueBeam Revu, Gmail, and Cloud-based servers Strong understanding of product design and manufacturing processes Strong leadership, coaching, and problem solving skills Ability to coordinate multiple projects, people, and functions Knowledge of plant safety and construction requirements Knowledge of ANSI/AISC 360-16 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, Chapter N (Quality Control and Quality Assurance) EAS is the leading HVAC Volumetric Modular Manufacturer and the # 1 Mechanical Contractor in the Southeastern United States.
