There is potential for the role to progress from day-based employment to a more substantive position over time.

BENEFITS:

  • Competitive daily rate: £160-£180, paid weekly.
  • Opportunity to enhance your ultrasound skills and your familiarity with modern ultrasound technology.
  • Potential to progress into a salaried, more senior teaching role over time.
  • Flexible working arrangements, ideal for those looking for part-time employment while working towards UK registration or managing other commitments.

ABOUT US:

Bromley Emergency Training & Research Ltd is a leading medical training company established in 2005. Based near London Bridge Station, we specialise in providing high-quality medical courses to doctors and other clinicians working in acute and emergency settings.
We run a large number of ultrasound courses, primarily for beginners. Our state-of-the-art training equipment includes ten ultrasound systems, handheld devices (e.g., Butterfly IQ+), scannable manikins, and cutting-edge simulators (BodyWorks and HeartWorks).
If you’re passionate about ultrasound and want to play a role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals, we invite you to apply!

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As an Ultrasound Teaching Doctor, you will support the teaching of our ultrasound courses. These courses focus on practical ultrasound skills using normal volunteers, ultrasound simulators, and scannable manikins. You will assist learners by providing guidance on equipment usage, probe handling, image acquisition, and identifying pathological appearances.
On teaching days, you will work alongside an experienced faculty member, moving between different types of ultrasound equipment to offer practical support to candidates. Our learners will range from beginners to those with basic ultrasound knowledge, and your role will be key to building their confidence and proficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in practical ultrasound training sessions, focusing on equipment handling, image optimisation, and pathology recognition.
  • Provide guidance on the use of various ultrasound systems, including handheld devices and simulators.
  • Support learners in developing their skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Become familiar with our ultrasound machines, handheld systems (e.g., Butterfly IQ+), and state-of-the-art simulators (BodyWorks and HeartWorks).
  • Gain familiarity with our teaching philosophy and actively contribute to the development of learners.
  • Work on a flexible, ad-hoc basis with potential for more senior responsibilities in ultrasound teaching and other courses.
