  Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Our rich history and strong community support pave the way for the future of healthcare as we serve you—our family, friends, and neighbors.   Position Summary:    Under the general direction of the radiologist and department manager, performs professional duties and a variety of technical procedures, to produce high quality diagnostic vascular examinations for interpretation.  Has latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to perform ultrasound procedures, assist the radiologist and medical staff whenever possible, and accept the responsibility for all procedures performed.  The incumbent may be required to perform assorted administrative, clerical, and other ultrasound duties as directed.  The Technologist must maintain proper CME for credentialing and licensure.   Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities): 1. Conducts requested testing in the Radiology department per the physician’s orders. 2. Obtains patient’s clinical history before beginning any exam. 3. Demonstrates competency in ultrasound positioning and techniques. 4. Evaluates vascular ultrasound exams for technical quality before delivery to the radiologist. 5. Must be proficient with several different machines and procedures used for ultrasound testing processes. 6. Always attempts to understand the patient’s needs, responds accordingly and consistently tries to obtain cooperation with patient regardless of the patient’s age group (infant, child, adolescent, adult, or geriatric). 7. Inspires confidence from patients, visitors, and families by always performing and communication in a professional manner. 8. Respects the confidentiality of patient orders and records; uses discretion in discussion of patient health. 9. Demonstrates concern for cleanliness and infection control by practicing universal controls. 10. Must be available for call coverage, rotating shifts and disaster call back.   The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.   Position Requirements:   ·         High school graduate or equivalent ·         Must have completed a formal vascular ultrasound education program. ·         Registered with ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS). ·         Eligible for state licensure, if applicable ·         Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Can be obtained within 30 days of start date or recertification can be obtained within 30 days of expiration. Pay Range: * Pay ranges from $24.556/hour to $39.290/hour for an RN  (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience) Hours: Monday- Friday 8a-430p   Horizon Health is committed to caring not only for our patients, but for our staff as well.
