Position Summary: Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures. * Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician. * Provides age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan. * Maintains supplies and ensures a clean, orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items. * Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity. * Acts as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding appropriateness and accuracy of scans. * Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. * Maintains regular and reliable attendance. * Performs other duties as assigned. What we are looking for: * Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology required. * One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred. * Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification * BLS required within 30 days of hire. * Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date. * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. * Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
