Description Now Hiring – Ultrasound Technologist Location: Float (Avon, Bloomfield, Enfield, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill) The Ultrasound Technologist performs a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including obstetric/gynecologic, breast, and vascular in an outpatient imaging center setting. The technologist is responsible for producing high quality images to assist the radiologists in accurate diagnosis and patient care. This position requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and a commitment to patient centered service. US Technologist will perform all assigned duties under the direction of the Radiologist, US Lead and Imaging Operations Manager. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Perform abdominal, renal, pelvic, thyroid, scrotal and small parts ultrasound. Perform gynecologic scans (transabdominal and transvaginal) to assess reproductive organs. Perform diagnostic and screening breast ultrasound examinations. Conduct carotid, venous, arterial and abdominal vascular Doppler studies All other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Ensure a compassionate and professional experience for every patient. Review patient history and explain procedures clearly to obtain cooperation and confidence. Maintain accurate records and complete reports in PACS and RIS systems. Adhere to established protocols, infection control and safety standards. Assist with quality assurance, equipment calibration and maintaining a clean, organized exam area. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certifications in at least one specialty (Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast or Vascular, additional certification preferred.) Current BLS certification required. Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred (outpatient experience a plus) Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and sonographic imaging principles. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is based in a healthcare facility that provides patient care services in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Employees may work in various clinical or administrative areas depending on their role.
Responsibilities
