This is a full time, benefits-eligible position with daytime hours. This position includes: Excellent health coverage (CHP) with low monthly employee premiums 10.3% 401k contributions with no match requirements 23 days of paid time off accrued during first year of employment GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for performing sonographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the safety and mental and physical comfort of the patient while in the Sonographer’s care. Correlates the clinical history with the diagnostic study to be performed. Prepare patients for examinations and explains the procedures to patients while performing studies. Performs routine ultrasound procedures demonstrating anatomy under investigation through appropriate use of equipment and patient positioning. Assist physicians in proper interpretation of exam. Keeps up-to-date in the field of diagnostic medical sonography by reading and attending meetings, conferences, and symposia. Assists in technical training of students and staff. Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION: High school degree or equivalent. Graduation from an ultrasound school. Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or registry eligible, in appropriate specialties. Current CPR certification. EXPERIENCE: Minimum one or more years experience as a Sonographer and/or training with graduate Sonographer. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of ultrasound exam policies and protocols. Knowledge of operating ultrasound equipment and accessing applicable programs. Knowledge of anatomy. Knowledge of ultrasound physics. SKILLS: Skill in production of sonograms meeting physician expectations. Ability to effectively care for patients. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with interdepartmental personnel. Responsibilities
The Sonographer is responsible for performing sonographic procedures to aid in disease diagnosis while ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient during examinations.
