Undercover Online Operations Trainer
Location: In-person (location TBD)
Job Type: Contract (6 months)
Duration: 5-day training program (8 hours per day, Monday–Friday)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Extensive hands-on experience conducting undercover online operations targeting illicit product sellers.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term undercover identities across multiple platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency transactions, payment mechanisms, and tracing/seizure techniques.
• Familiarity with encrypted communications (Signal, Telegram, PGP, etc.) and dark web forums/marketplaces.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or training law enforcement professionals in cybercrime or undercover investigations.
• Ability to develop instructional materials, assessments, and interactive training exercises.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Apex Strategic Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Undercover Online Operations Trainer to design and deliver a 5-day advanced training course for federal law enforcement professionals. This program will equip participants with the technical skills and investigative strategies needed to conduct safe and effective undercover online operations targeting illicit sellers of FDA-regulated products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and facilitate a comprehensive 5-day (40-hour) undercover online operations training program for up to 16 participants.
• Teach advanced techniques for identifying suspects, building undercover identities (“legends”), and engaging targets on surface web, deep web, dark web, social media, and encrypted platforms.
• Provide instruction on:
• Evidence collection and digital attribution
• Tracing cryptocurrency and digital payments (CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, etc.)
• Creating and managing undercover online personas, shell companies, and websites
• Operational security (OPSEC), managed attribution, VPNs, proxies, VMs
• Website penetration testing, vulnerabilities, and netflow analysis
• Deliver course materials including lesson plans, instructor guides, presentations, case studies, and assessments.
• Issue participant certifications upon course completion.
