INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

The Office of Resilience & Sustainability seeks a self-starter and motivated intern ready to start a rewarding and challenging public service career. The intern will work under the direction of the Chief Resilience Officer. The intern will take on a prominent role in graphic design for marketing materials within the Office of Resilience & Sustainability, conduct research pertinent to grant applications, oversee the meticulous management of documentation, and engage with various internal and external stakeholders throughout Clayton County.
The intern will meet bi-weekly to review progress and discuss potential new projects. They will be given an opportunity to provide feedback on the value of the experience they are receiving, and their interests and goals will be considered for special projects.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list - these examples do not include all the tasks that the intern may be expected to perform):

  • Assist in graphic design tasks for marketing and promotional materials pertaining to the Office of Resilience & Sustainability
  • Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities relevant to the office’s objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of documentation required for grant applications.
  • Support other county departments by providing necessary materials and information for collaborative projects.
  • Implement and maintain thorough documentation processes to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of office procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve and streamline office processes as needed.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required by the office.

REQUIREMENTS

. Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program

  • Must be willing to commit up to 20 hours per week
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Proficient in Canva
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
