QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in Business Administration, Education or other directly related field, combined with significant closely related work experience in a university or college setting;
  • An undergraduate degree in Education is a considerable asset;
  • A strong working knowledge of the Ontario K-12 educational system;
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including advanced skills in database platforms and complex spreadsheet management programs; advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms, Drive) is considered a strong asset.
  • Highly professional, accurate and confidential interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Bachelor of Education programs, internal university policies, procedures and requirements, and the impact of program changes on students is considered a strong asset;
  • Ability to work efficiently and with precision under pressure and ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities
  • Counsel students on all academic procedures throughout the full cycle of their program, such as admissions requirements, enrolment guidance, registration, course changes, advising at-risk students, and navigating complex program requirements, working closely with the Program Chair and Coordinators;
  • Act as a public relations advisor to alumni, students, faculty, the university community and the general public, including participation in recruitment initiatives and events both inside and outside the university;
  • Key liaison for accreditation bodies, such as the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), including generating and submitting regularly required detailed reports on program metrics and extensive program reviews;
  • Create and manage extensive records and filing systems for tracking detailed student data, including marks management, placement reports, OCT reports, course outlines, degree audits and transcript reviews;
  • Prepare, revise and maintain departmental documents and materials such as degree audits, in-depth reports, statistics and data management spreadsheets, accreditation and quality assurance reviews; access to transcripts, enrolment reports and marks management systems
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required
