Additional Voluntary Benefits 401(k) with up to a 4% Employer Match Medical Insurance Dental and Vision Insurance Additional Life and AD&D Insurance Long-Term Disability Insurance Pet Insurance Personal Accident Insurance Legal and Identify Theft Protection Pay Range: $90k-$160k Core Responsibilities Directly manage and support multiple underground construction foremen and crews Assign daily priorities and ensure proper crew alignment for projects Provide field leadership and coaching to operators, laborers, and crew leads Monitor crew safety, production, and morale across multiple job sites Conduct daily or weekly tailgate meetings, safety huddles, and check-ins Review and interpret construction plans, job packets, permits, and locates Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available for scheduled work Communicate job status, delays, or issues to Project Managers and internal stakeholders Support emergency repairs or high-priority work with field deployment and rapid coordination Enforce Universal’s safety policies and OSHA/DOT regulations on all job sites Lead job site inspections and coach crews on safe digging, utility exposure, and restoration Assist Safety team to investigate incidents, document near misses, and participate in root cause analysis Team Development & Culture Support hiring, onboarding, and training new crew members Identify and mentor high-potential employees for advancement Enforce accountability while fostering a culture of respect and performance Promote open communication between field and office staff Educate on proper construction standards, and utility regulations Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required Physical Demands, Schedule & Competencies Must be able to walk in uneven terrain and withstand outdoor environments in all seasons Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist with field operations in emergencies Full-time, exempt position Monday – Friday. Requirements Minimum Qualifications SQUTI certified 5+ years of experience in underground utility and 3+ years of experience in management Strong understanding of telecommunications, directional drilling, trenching, potholing, and restoration processes Ability to read and interpret telecommunications and fiber construction plans, permits, and GIS mapping Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and project tracking tools Understanding of basic traffic control setups
