Responsibilities
  • Proficient operation of bolting equipment (e.g., bolters, jumbos) for ground support in an underground mining environment.
  • Executing various bolting techniques including rebar, cable, and friction bolt installation according to engineering specifications and ground conditions.
  • Conducting pre-operational checks and routine minor maintenance on bolting equipment (e.g., fluid checks, greasing, reporting defects).
  • Assisting with scaling activities and ground condition assessment to ensure safe and stable work areas.
  • Handling and transporting bolting materials, tools, and equipment efficiently within the underground mine.
  • Strictly adhering to all company and project site safety policies, ground control plans, procedures (including communication protocols), and PPE requirements.
  • Maintaining awareness of surroundings and other personnel/equipment to ensure safe operation at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including equipment cabs.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other personnel regarding daily tasks, equipment status, and any encountered issues.
  • Assisting with other general underground support or labouring duties as project needs dictate.
