Job Title Underwriter (Commercial Auto) - HYBRID Location 1010 Northern Blvd, Suite 238, Great Neck, NY 11021 Salary $60,000 - $90,000/year, DOE Position Type Full-Time Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm Hybrid after 90 days – 3 days in office / 2 days remote Reports to Underwriting Manager Position Overview: Join our team as a Commercial Auto Underwriter, where we value both established expertise and the drive to learn. This role is designed for someone—either an experienced underwriter or an ambitious newcomer—who can master the balance of risk assessment and relationship management. You will be responsible for pricing and managing a commercial auto portfolio while maintaining strong ties with internal teams and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate, underwrite, and manage commercial auto accounts, including reviewing submissions, assessing exposures, and recommending terms and pricing Analyze loss history, financials, and risk profiles to make informed underwriting decisions Apply company underwriting guidelines, actuarial information, and industry best practices Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders Manage renewals and new business submissions, ensuring proper documentation and approvals Monitor portfolio performance and market trends to inform underwriting strategy Collaborate with claims, actuarial, finance, and risk teams to align underwriting strategy with overall business objectives Ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, and industry standards.
