Brown & Brown is seeking an Underwriting Technician to join our growing team in Fort Wayne, IN!
Working in support of assigned Underwriter(s), Underwriting Technician responsibilities include preparation of underwriting submissions for review, preparation of proposals and binders (including all supporting documentation), invoicing successful business, issuing policies and endorsements, and servicing existing accounts on a day-to-day basis.
How You Will Contribute:
-

Format proposals, binders, complete auto ID cards and other state reporting for Insured vehicles, request invoices from Finance.

• Issuance of underwriting authority policies and endorsements. Maintain system and documentation to support the issue process. All policies and endorsements must be issued as bound and within the timeframe defined within American Specialty’s underwriting authority agreement. Success is determined by the degree of accuracy that policies and endorsements are provided the insured.
• Process and service premium bearing and non-premium bearing endorsements, including rating, completion of sign-off, requesting invoices for any premium-bearing endorsements, and interaction with the Finance and Compliance Departments.
• Participate in underwriting training sessions to establish and develop an understanding of the underwriting process.
• Assist assigned Underwriters with renewal set-up process including items such as: file review, enterprise coding, rating for all lines, update underwriting narrative, statement of values and ordering of loss control reports.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by the Policy Services Director.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
-

Two or more years of experience in insurance-related customer service position.

• General knowledge of ISO policy forms including manuscript coverage forms.
