The Underwriting Analyst is proficient in conducting timely and accurate contract back file reviews, conducting thorough K back research and ensuring meticulous maintenance of contract files to fruition.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct timely and accurate reviews of contract back files, ensuring adherence to same-day processing for contracts.
Perform comprehensive research on appropriate K back data to support underwriting decisions and ensure accuracy
Maintain organized and up-to-date contract files throughout the underwriting process, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of underwriting tasks.
Analyze contract terms and conditions to assess risk factors and make informed underwriting recommendations.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates on underwriting progress.
Identify and escalate any discrepancies or issues found during contract reviews, collaborating with senior underwriters as needed.
Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance underwriting effectiveness.
Assist in the development and implementation of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
Skills/Certifications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contract data and make sound underwriting decisions.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in contract back file reviews and maintenance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with underwriting software and tools (e.g., underwriting platforms, risk assessment software) preferred.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Certification in underwriting or related field (e.g., Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)) is a plus.
Professional Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in underwriting or related roles, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
Proven track record of conducting timely and accurate contract back file reviews and maintaining contract files to fruition.
Experience in conducting K back research to support underwriting decisions and ensure accuracy.
Familiarity with underwriting principles, risk assessment methodologies, and industry regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in collaborating with internal stakeholders and effectively communicating underwriting decisions.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address discrepancies or issues in contract reviews.
