Why our Underwriting Assistant is Important: HIMI is a Managing General Agency and Third-Party Administrator dedicated to supporting Hawai`i’s businesses through customized insurance packages and expert insurance consulting.  Our Underwriting Assistant plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service by servicing accounts, managing HIMI’s central inbox, managing processing and data entry responsibilities and providing administrative support to the underwriting department. Essential Duties * Set up and assign new business applications and renewal files according to HIMI procedures and guidelines. * Manage and triage service inbox. * Process simple service requests. * Manage policy processing including policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations and reinstatements. * Manage and maintain policy database integrity including file creation and account status. * Comply with HIMI Service Standards. Meet service standard quality and timeliness guidelines for all HIMI carrier partners and their processes. * Establish good rapport with agents to promote positive relationships. * Promote a culture of outstanding customer service across the organization. * Support organization-wide and HIMI diversification initiatives including cross-selling and product offerings. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements * Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a solutions-oriented mindset. * Strong customer service focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
