UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT (BILINGUAL ENGLISH-SPANISH) – PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Underwriting Assistant to join our Underwriting team in the Personal Auto Insurance division. In this role, you will support the underwriting process by reviewing applications, assisting customers, and ensuring that all policy information is accurate and compliant with company guidelines.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in auto insurance customer service or policy support (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with underwriting or insurance terminology is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Review personal auto insurance applications and endorsements for accuracy and eligibility.
  • Provide customer support via phone and chat in both English and Spanish.
  • Assist customers and agent partners with policy questions, billing inquiries, and website navigation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal underwriting standards.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explaining policy details and insurance terms in a simple and understandable way.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to share insights and support efficient workflows.
  • Handle a high volume of interactions while maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented approach.

This is a non-sales role. No insurance license or previous experience in underwriting is required, but prior experience in insurance customer service is preferred.Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (advanced verbal and written communication skills in both languages).
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using computer systems and navigating CRM or policy management software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and de-escalation skills when handling customer concerns.
