LV Petroleum is a fast growing company that specializes in travel centers and truck stops across the country. We are experiencing high growth and we're adding to the team. The Unemployment Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the unemployment claims process. This role ensures timely and accurate responses to state Department of Labor inquiries, processes employment terminations, and supports HR with general administrative duties. Key Responsibilities: Respond to unemployment claims and requests for information from state labor departments. Track and manage active and historical claims to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Process terminations in HRIS and ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping. Draft and submit required documentation including separation notices, fact-finding statements, and appeals. Collaborate with legal or third-party vendors, if applicable, on disputed claims. Maintain employee records related to separations and claims in a secure and organized manner. Provide administrative support for broader HR functions as needed.. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in HR, payroll, or unemployment claims management preferred. Familiarity with state-specific unemployment laws and procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Experience working with multiple states or within a multi-state employer environment. Knowledge of HRIS systems or third-party unemployment management platforms.
