Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to support the Defense Intelligence Agency, on-site in multiple locations. The UC Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure voice and video communications systems across multiple classified environments.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE UC ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security)
  • CCNA and ITIL v4 Foundations
  • Experience requirements (one of the following):
  • High School/GED + 9 years
  • Associate’s degree + 7 years
  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years
  • Master’s degree + 3 years
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco UC technologies, including CUCM
  • Experience in network administration and UC operations
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S Government Top Secret with SCI eligibility with willingness and ability to obtain a CI Poly.
Responsibilities
  • Lead UC implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects across classified environments
  • Design, deploy, and maintain UC solutions including VoIP, SIP, and cloud-based platforms
  • Perform system upgrades and apply IAVA patches to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and IOS
  • Troubleshoot system failures, accessibility issues, and degraded performance
  • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal IT/security teams to ensure seamless UC operations
  • Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles
  • Monitor UC system performance and manage UC-related tickets through resolution
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Apply security protocols and ensure compliance with NIST, DoD guidelines, and STIGs
  • Configure and manage UC monitoring systems to ensure service availability
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership in UC engineering efforts
  • Participate in project management for major upgrades and modernization initiatives
