Job Summary Diverzify is seeking a Union Payroll Specialist to manage and administer payroll processes related to union employees across multiple unions and job sites. This role requires strong knowledge of union payroll practices, including collective bargaining agreement requirements, union deductions, certified payroll, and fringe benefit reporting. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented and experienced in managing complex payroll environments involving multiple unions, jurisdictions, and benefit structures. This position will collaborate closely with HR, Accounting, and field operations to ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with union agreements, and timely reporting to union benefit funds. This role will be based in Itasca, IL and support payroll operations across several Diverzify business units and locations. Requirements Job Responsibilities Administer payroll processing for union employees across multiple unions and job sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable collective bargaining agreements. Maintain detailed knowledge of union wage rates, fringe benefit contributions, and payroll requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Calculate and process union deductions, benefit contributions, and remittances to union trust funds. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and other required union reporting in accordance with federal, state, and union requirements. Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and operations teams to verify hours, job classifications, and job costing information. Maintain payroll records related to union employees, including wage adjustments, contract changes, and benefit fund updates. Audit payroll data to ensure compliance with union agreements, prevailing wage laws, and internal payroll procedures. Assist with payroll reconciliation and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. Respond to inquiries from union representatives, employees, and internal stakeholders regarding payroll matters. Support internal and external audits related to payroll, union reporting, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure payroll processes are aligned with company policies and financial reporting requirements. Continuously evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications Experience processing payroll in a union or construction industry environment. Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements, union wage structures, and fringe benefit contributions. Experience with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage requirements. High attention to detail and ability to manage complex payroll data across multiple unions and job sites. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the construction or commercial flooring industry. Familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems such as Paylocity or similar platforms. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field. Experience working with multi-state payroll and union benefit fund reporting.
