Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Responsibilities The Unit Secretary is responsible for ensuring the Maternal Fetal Medicine unit runs efficiently. Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff. Coordinate with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges, and notify the hospitalist if needed. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Perform a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties and facilitate communication. Expedite interdepartmental services and comply with and keep records required on the nursing unit. Assist the nursing staff in coordinating the activities of the unit. Assist with patient care/quality assurance audits. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Preferred Job Requirements: 1-year working as a Unit Secretary in an acute care hospital Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
