Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Unit Clerk in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) program at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury (CCMHBI) in Ponoka. This position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. The Unit Clerk must be flexible and able to accept re-allocated workload as required, and able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member and also work independently. The person must have intermediate to advanced computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Power Point, MS Word, Outlook Calendar/Outlook with capability to learn and use other systems such as Infor WFM, Connect Care, Oracle, IAM (NAR), Netcare. The Unit Clerk requires excellent time management, conflict resolution skills, and stress management and problem-solving skills, must be organized and able to prioritize work and manage the demands of large volumes of work, possess good oral and written communication skills, and be proficient in the English language. You will have an excellent attendance record. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Unit Clerk is a coordinator and a central source of information and record keeping relating to the activities, communication and service for the patients on the nursing unit. The Unit Clerk acts as a liaison between members of the interdisciplinary team as well as other hospital and non-hospital staff. Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
