Description St. Croix Health is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) team member to join our organization. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Imaging Unit Coordinator supports and manages appointments for diagnostic imaging services such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds. This role involves communicating with patients, providers, and clinical staff to ensure accurate scheduling, proper preparation instructions, and efficient use of imaging resources. The position verifies patient information, insurance details, and exam requirements while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinates activities of Radiology to support provider and patient care staff. Serves as subject matter expert on exam preps, times, and requirements for all modalities within the imaging department Verify and enter accurate patient demographics, insurance information, and exam details in scheduling systems Manage inbound and outbound calls, addressing patient questions and resolving scheduling conflicts or changes 2. Schedules exams appropriately. Schedule diagnostic imaging appointments (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound) according to provider orders, clinical protocols, and resource availability Review provider orders for completeness and follow up on missing or unclear information prior to scheduling Provide patients with clear preparation instructions, appointment details, and pre-authorization requirements Coordinate with technologists, radiologists, and clinical staff to optimize scheduling efficiency and accommodate urgent or add-on cases Obtain and/or verify insurance authorizations and referrals as required Assists with exam protocol verification 3. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties.
