Facilitates the smooth running of the nursing unit by performing a broad range of clerical duties; transcribes medical orders, maintains medical records, communicates effectively, and assists in providing a safe and efficient unit. Ensures the accuracy and efficiency of registration of patients for outpatient procedures and in-house admissions. Essential Functions · Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. · Answer questions regarding services, policies, and procedures, providing accurate information. · Act as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff, relaying messages and updates as needed. · Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating admissions, and managing patient flow within the unit. · Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary. · Maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations, ensuring patient needs are prioritized. · Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. · Assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries, ensuring patients understand their coverage and financial responsibilities. · Work collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure efficient patient care and service delivery. · Participate in unit meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to customer service and patient care. Education High School Diploma Or GED Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association
