Description
1. Maintains accurate, complete and up-to-date patient records as prescribed by CPC policies and procedures, obtaining old record, reports, results, as instructed. 2. Answers phones, relays call, and/or messages, calls ancillary departments, private physicians, other healthcare facilities, etc., as requested. 3. Copies, faxes and scans materials as requested, obtains, correlates and processes records and reports as required by CCH, DMH and regulatory agencies and as requested by physicals, management, nurses or clinicians. 4. Timely faxing all court paperwork to meet State requirement. Coordinating documents with the associated law firms and the court. 5. Daily review of all patient’s paper medical record to ensure completion of all forms including, but not limited to: Release of Information, treatment plans, consent to treat, Medicare certifications/recertifications. 6. Responds to requests for release of medical record information in accordance with established policy and procedures. 7. Adheres to departmental operating procedures and maintains a cooperative and courteous relationship in all telephone and verbal communication with coworkers, physicians, volunteers, patients and allied healthcare professionals. 8. Follows visitor policies and procedures, ensuring prior to the visitor entering the unit that the patient has agreed to the visitor, a face-to-face greeting is performed at the outside entrance, contraband is explained, and a search of any items brought onto the unit is completed 9. Prepares admissions packets while maintaining adequate quantity of forms, materials and supplies. Maintains reference materials. 10. Demonstrates knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems. 11. Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients. 12. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors and co-workers. 13. Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested. · Ability to read, write and communicate in English · Medical Secretary/ Medical Receptionist, experience preferred · Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet search engines · Excellent organization and time management skills · Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or MOAB Training within 1 month of hire Current BLS certification or within 1 month of hire
