1. Maintains accurate, complete and up-to-date patient records as prescribed by established Emergency Center policies and procedures, obtaining old records, reports, results, dictation, transcription, etc., as instructed. 2. Answers phones, relays calls and/or messages, calls ancillary departments, private physicians, other healthcare facilities, etc., as requested. 3. Coordinate all transport resources by established Emergency Center, CCH and regulatory agency policies, procedures, standards and recommendations or as requested by authorized physicians, management or nurses. 4. Copies and faxes materials as requested, obtains, correlates and processes records and reports as required by established Emergency Center, CCH and regulatory agency policies, procedures, standards and recommendations or as requested by authorized physicians, management, or nurses. 5. Adheres to departmental operating procedures and maintains a cooperative and courteous relationship with co-workers, physicians, volunteers, patients, visitors and allied healthcare professionals. 6. Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in the use of Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems) for looking up records. 7. Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients. 8. Maintains adequate quantity of forms, materials and supplies within workstation. 9. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures. 10. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. 11. Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor. · Ability to read, write and communicate in English. · Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare informatics systems. · Successful passage of medical terminology course, or successful passage of medical terminology challenge exam. · Medical Secretary/Medical Receptionist experience preferred.
