Transcribes orders accurately and timely, maintaining an efficient work environment. Organizes clerical and support activities on unit communicating messages accurately and timely. Requirements High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Visual, auditory and speech acuity requisite to verbal and written communication with patients, families, physicians, and other persons with whom contact is part of work activities. Computer software knowledge preferred. Cross training is required. Working Conditions Work involves one-to-one contact with patients and visitors and may involve exposure to communicable disease. Frequent exposure to the chemicals used in cleaning and disinfecting solutions. Work is performed inside a well lighted, heated and air conditioned space. Work is light (exerting/lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly) to moderate (exerting/ lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly) in using various types of equipment, moving furniture, and patients. Work requires sitting, walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, stretching, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and lifting. Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
