Description
Working closely with the New Model Product Development Center (NMPDC), the supervisor helps enable successful DCV builds and contributes to the readiness of New Product Launches across North American manufacturing sites. Lead and manage daily operations of the Metrology Laboratory. Supervise UAW Layout Inspectors performing dimensional checks on prototype and production parts. Ensure inspection activities meet program timing and quality standards. Support NMPDC DCV builds and New Product Launches by identifying and resolving dimensional issues early in the development cycle. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and launch teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations. Maintain calibration schedules and ensure proper functioning of metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, layout tools). Promote a safe, organized, and high-performance work environment. Drive continuous improvement in inspection processes and lab efficiency Established and active employee resource groups Experience in dimensional inspection, metrology, or quality control. Strong leadership and team management skills. Familiarity with GD&T, CMM operation, and layout inspection tools. Familiarity with Ford systems and launch processes preferred. Prior experience with Body Exterior systems. Prior Launch experience in Body Construction. Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
