JOB SUMMARY

Security Bank of Texas is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Universal Banker / Lending Assistant to join our Temple team. This position is a hybrid role that combines customer service, new account opening, and teller support with direct assistance to lending officers in the loan process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both customers and internal staff, ensuring efficient branch operations while supporting loan documentation, closings, and account servicing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • 2+ years of banking experience required; prior experience as a Universal Banker or Lending Assistant strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of TRID regulations and prior loan processing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office software.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in both independent and team environments.

Responsibilities
  • Open and maintain new deposit accounts; perform teller transactions as needed, including issuing debit cards, stop payments, and online banking resets.
  • Assist lending officers throughout the loan process, including preparing loan documentation, ordering appraisals, lien searches, and title commitments, as well as closing loans and perfecting liens.
  • Ensure accurate execution of all loan documents, collection of fees, and proper organization of credit and collateral files.
  • Monitor maturing loans, past dues, and collateral exceptions; process loan advances, payments, and related fees.
  • Provide responsive service to customers regarding loan applications, existing accounts, overdrafts, returned items, and other operational issues.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, lending officers, attorneys, and title companies to ensure smooth loan closings and account servicing.
  • Support lending officers with daily administrative needs, including correspondence, secretarial tasks, and relationship development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized loan files in compliance with bank policies and regulations.
  • Research and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
