As a Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering (BAIE) Intern, you will support the BAIE team in identifying and implementing improvements within Universal Studios Hollywood’s attractions. This role focuses on hands-on data collection, time studies, and analysis – to look at the variety of ways Attractions tracks delays and enhance it to one or fewer solutions. In addition to Capacity Studies projects, you may also have opportunities to assist with initiatives that support other operational areas, providing a broader understanding of how analytics drive performance across the business. Working closely with BAIE team members, you’ll gain practical experience applying industrial engineering principles to real-world challenges and contribute directly to data-driven decisions that impact daily operations. Responsibilities: Assist the Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering (BAIE) Department in accomplishing tasks. These tasks include time studies, data collection, data analysis, metric development and execution, and small projects pertaining to increasing efficiency, reducing costs, impacting sales, and improving ride throughput. Collect and compile observational data-time and motion studies. This data can be used to make business decisions around (but not limited to) ride capacity and utilization, Operations Support, Food and Merchandise sales, labor utilization, and standards. Assist in set-up and data entry of data for Technical Services, Operations, Security, Parking, Merchandise, Foods, Entertainment, and Park Services. Utilize Microsoft Excel and statistical tools for analysis and reporting. Collaborate with BAIE team members and other stakeholders to implement improvement initiatives. Prioritize and problem-solve to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, and training. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Must be actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution, or must be a recent graduate (internship within six months of graduation date) in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Current class standing of Sophomore or above. Must be willing to work in Universal City, California. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, & holidays. Must be willing to submit a background check investigation. An official educational transcript may be required upon request. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
