DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

As our University and Early Career Recruiting Manager, you will lead the strategy to attract and hire exceptional interns and entry-level talent who will help drive MITRE’s success for years to come. You’ll forge strong partnerships with universities, colleges, and educational programs, positioning MITRE as an employer of choice for emerging talent. Collaborating closely with business leaders, you’ll design and execute enterprise-wide recruiting strategies, manage the full recruitment lifecycle for early-career programs, and deliver an outstanding candidate experience that inspires the next generation of leaders to start—and grow—their careers here.
The ideal candidate has a proven record of developing effective early-career talent acquisition strategies, leading large-scale and high-volume recruiting initiatives, and inspiring teams to deliver exceptional results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 7 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • 7+ years of recruiting experience, including at least 3 years in university or early-career talent acquisition.
  • Proven track record of leading recruiting teams and developing scalable recruitment strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both academic institutions and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Skilled at influencing and driving change within a matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in leveraging applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment analytics, and other recruiting technologies to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Ability to travel to various campuses; role requires a minimum of two days per week on-site.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in campus or corporate recruiting.
  • 2+ years of experience leading large-scale and high-volume campus recruiting initiatives.
  • Experience analyzing recruitment metrics, trends, and data, and applying insights to make strategic improvements.

  • Lead and develop a team of recruiters dedicated to university and early-career hiring, fostering performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Design and implement recruitment strategies that attract high-potential talent, set measurable goals, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong campus partnerships; represent MITRE at career fairs, information sessions, and on-campus events to promote our programs and employer brand.
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle and leverage data insights to optimize sourcing, selection, and hiring for interns and entry-level roles.
