Step Into Teaching are an extremely successful graduate pre-teacher training programme designed to encourage more graduates to choose teaching in schools as their number one career choice. The programme has been designed to provide talented graduates with practical school-based experience that will lay the foundations for a long lasting and successful career in teaching. To date we have placed 3500+ graduates however, in the academic year just gone, our programme guided over 1200 graduates into positions with our partnered schools and colleges nationwide.
Reporting to our Education Partnerships Director, this is an exciting, multifaceted role that offers variety and impact. We’re seeking a versatile individual to take the lead in two key areas of our business. First, you’ll take charge of building strong relationships with universities nationwide, promoting our program, and engaging with graduates passionate about pursuing a career in teaching. Your efforts will ensure that graduates are aware of Step Into Teaching and connect with us as they look to start their teaching careers.
Second, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our internal recruitment efforts by managing vacancies across our administrative, marketing, recruitment, and leadership teams. Whether filling executive positions or building out our core teams, you’ll be at the forefront of finding top talent to drive our growth. Please don’t worry if Internal Recruitment isn’t a role you have held previously, we are happy to train the appointed person with the relevant skills needed for this part of the post.
We’re looking for an ideal candidate who thrives in connecting with others, bringing a personable and engaging approach to every interaction. You’ll be self-driven, able to manage tasks independently, and take initiative with confidence. Attention to detail is key, as you’ll ensure accuracy and thoroughness, especially when handling recruitment processes and candidate experiences. Above all, you’ll be a true team player, collaborating seamlessly with marketing, HR, and leadership to achieve shared goals.

Our overall business consists c50 staff, and we are based in a new office space in Leamington Spa which has plenty of natural light, super-fast Wi-Fi, a suite of tech-enabled meeting rooms and high-quality base furnishings, the perfect environment for your career to flourish! We are also literally a 20 second walk from Pure Gym and for those exercise lovers we give our team 1.15hrs lunch breaks should they choose to work out during lunch.

INTERNAL RECRUITMENT LEAD (30%):

  • Job Posting and Advertising: Writing clear and compelling job descriptions, posting them on appropriate platforms, and ensuring they reach a broad audience of potential candidates.
  • Sourcing and Talent Acquisition: Identifying and attracting qualified candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Screening and Interviewing: Reviewing CV’s, conducting initial video screening calls, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers to assess candidates’ suitability for specific roles.
  • Collaborating with Hiring Managers: Working closely with management team to understand staffing needs, define job requirements, and ensure the recruitment strategy aligns with the company’s goals.
  • Managing the Candidate Experience: Maintaining communication with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing feedback, and ensuring a positive experience, whether they are selected or not.
  • Onboarding Support: Assisting with the onboarding process of new hires, ensuring they have a smooth transition into their new roles.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Relationship Management:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain long-term relationships with university stakeholders and potential candidates.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with university career services, student organizations, and academic departments.
  • Recruitment Expertise:
  • Proven experience in sourcing, screening, and hiring for diverse roles, from entry-level to executive positions.
  • Proficiency in using various recruitment platforms (e.g., job boards, social media) and conducting interviews.
  • Understanding of recruitment best practices, including candidate experience and onboarding.
  • Presentation and Public Speaking:
  • Confidence in delivering presentations, webinars, and workshops to university students and faculty, promoting the organization and its programs.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Organisational skills to plan, coordinate, and attend campus events such as job fairs and networking sessions.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Ability to identify challenges in recruitment or partnership strategies and proactively implement solutions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience in Recruitment:
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition preferably within a fast-paced organization.
  • Experience recruiting across a variety of roles, from administrative to leadership positions.
  • Higher Education or University Partnerships:
  • Experience working with or managing partnerships with universities, schools or colleges.
  • Event Coordination and Public Engagement:
  • Experience organising and attending recruitment fairs, networking events, or other public engagements is highly valued.
  • Project Management:
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, particularly in both recruitment and external partnerships.
  • Sales or Outreach Experience:
  • Experience in sales, outreach, or promotion would be beneficial, especially for engaging and pitching the program to universities and students.
