POSITION SUMMARY:

The University Relations (UR) Specialist will support the planning, coordination, and execution of our regional University Relations programs across North America. This role will assist in developing relationships with universities, coordinating recruitment efforts, and supporting student and early career programs, including co-ops/internships, summer help program and graduate development programs. This individual will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance our student and early career talent pipeline in alignment with business objectives.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of university recruiting and engagement practices, and student/early-career talent program coordination.
  • Understanding of how to foster an inclusive culture and create a welcoming environment for all program participants.
  • Familiarity with employer branding and recruitment marketing strategies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment processes is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of experience in university relations, campus recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR-related roles.
  • Experience supporting event planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Background in a corporate or manufacturing environment, especially in a dynamic, high-growth industry.

SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational and project planning skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms for recruitment.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, or related field is required.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in implementing a regional university relations strategy to attract high-quality talent for early career programs.
  • Support the coordination and execution of student and early career programs, including internship and co-op programs, summer help program, and the graduate development programs.
  • Plan and coordinate recruitment activities, including career fairs, on-campus events, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with key university contacts and assist in scheduling and executing campus recruitment and engagement events.
  • Partner with functional co-op leads to align on program structure, recruitment/selection process, and strategy to enhance participant experience and talent pipelines.
  • Partner with talent attraction to develop and execute a social media strategy, including the development of marketing and branding materials to promote UR initiatives.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador at recruiting events and help enhance employer brand awareness among students and early-career professionals.
  • Track and maintain accurate records of UR program participants, pipeline candidates, and event outcomes.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of program participants, ensuring a positive candidate/new hire experience.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through regular participant check-ins, exit interviews, and feedback loops
  • Track and analyze key metrics and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and optimize the student experience.
  • Collaborate with ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) and leadership to identify, develop, and deliver meaningful content and activities that promote, reinforce, and communicate a culture of inclusion and belonging across the organization.
  • Adhere to annual UR budget.
  • Support the HRBP’s in addressing employee relations issues and concerns related to any of the individuals hired through the programs outlined above.
  • Serve as a talent champion for program participants by proactively identifying and facilitating pathways to full-time employment through close partnership with business leaders and Talent Acquisition.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to hiring and employment.
  • Assist with additional Talent Acquisition projects or activities, as needed.
