As the university safety operations manager, you will work daily with a team of 6–10 employees who are assigned to static posts and to foot, vehicle, and bicycle patrols within the SCAD Atlanta campus safety and security operations center and the larger SCAD community. You will identify best safety and security practices to implement innovative methods that provide the highest level of service to the SCAD community. Your responsibilities include the refinement of the university safety patrol program standards, the promotion of job knowledge to highlight SCAD’s vision and commitment to a safe environment, and engagement with law enforcement to exchange and share information. Additionally, you will support local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations and real-time assessments to ensure proper staffing and resource allocation.
In this role, you will use your influence to encourage active engagement with all internal and external stakeholders and consult with university management and law enforcement officials on operational and policy issues. You will also apply your knowledge related to overseeing special events at the Savannah campus, including the development, maintenance, and implementation of evolving crime prevention programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least four years of security, military, or law enforcement experience with at least two years in a management position
  • Demonstrated job-based knowledge and university-specific experience
  • Extensive experience in the development and establishment of patrol and staffing programs focusing on training, building extensive job knowledge and skills, customer service, and safety
  • Experience with the relevant compliance requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in the process of conducting threat assessments
  • Certification in the process of conducting special event assessments
