Red Badge Group is looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join our team as a Tertiary Security Guard in Auckland CBD, working a mixture of day shifts and night shifts. We are looking for candidates with flexible availability working on 4 on 4 off roster - 0700-1900 and 1900-0700 between Monday-Sunday. About the Role: Be a visible and approachable security presence, creating a safe and welcoming campus for students, staff, and visitors. Main Responsibilities: Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting with queries, directions, and upholding a safe campus environment. Monitor and control access to university buildings and secure areas in line with site procedures. Patrol campus regularly, remaining vigilant and maintaining a high level of alertness to ensure safety at all times. Respond quickly, calmly, and professionally to incidents or emergencies, using clear communication to de-escalate situations where needed. Prepare accurate and timely incident reports and site records in accordance with university and company guidelines. Collaborate effectively with university staff, students, and emergency services as needed. Key Skills: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, able to support people from diverse backgrounds. Previous experience in security is a plus and ideally already hold a Green COA. Strong written and verbal communication, suitable for both public-facing interactions and incident report writing. Understanding of access control procedures and the ability to follow detailed protocols. Ability to identify and respond to safety risks quickly and appropriately. This role requires physical fitness - you will be walking for the duration of your 12-hour shift. What You’ll Need: Eligibility to work in New Zealand and at least 18 years old. Hold, or be able to obtain, a current NZ Certificate of Approval (COA) Security License. Clean criminal conviction record. Flexible availability to work shifts on various nights of the week, including availability for one if not both weekend nights.
