We’re seeking a hands-on Unix Migration Engineer to deliver a structured migration from Oracle Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a regulated financial-institution environment. You’ll build RHEL images, port services/scripts, migrate data with minimal downtime, troubleshoot issues, and support post-cutover stabilization.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solaris & RHEL admin experience.
• At least one OS migration/re-platforming project.
• Strong Unix fundamentals and shell scripting; Python a plus.
• Financial-institution experience (e.g., insurance, asset mgmt, brokerage, fintech, exchange).
• Knowledge of change/release processes, regulatory controls (MAS TRM, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
• RHCSA/RHCE preferred; Solaris certs a plus.

• Discover hosts/services, update CMDB.
• Build RHEL images to institutional security baselines.
• Convert Solaris services/startup logic to systemd.
• Plan and execute data/filesystem migrations with rollback.
• Configure storage, networking, access controls, and monitoring.
• Follow change control (RFC/CAB), maintain audit evidence.
• Support hypercare, resolve defects, hand over to ops.
