Description
Participate in design and architecture for development projects in Unix and SQL. Deliver responsibilities from requirements capture to high-level and low-level design, including performance tuning. Write, debug, and fine-tune queries and Unix shell scripts. Execute scripts and SQL queries, manage sandboxes, and perform version and access management. Triage and participate in root cause analysis of data migration issues and implement code fixes. Identify bottlenecks and optimise migration processes. Monitor production environments, perform health checks, and ensure defect-free deliverables. Escalate or interact with relevant teams for resolution of service requests. Support SLA fulfilment and compliance with standard processes and practices. Performance tuning and optimisation for ETL and data migration processes. 2-3 years of experience in Unix and SQL production support projects. Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of Unix, Shell scripting, and Oracle PL/SQL syntax. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and ETL features such as high performance and parallelism. Knowledge of ticketing tools (e.g., Remedy) and ITIL processes for incident and change management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a diverse and sometimes ambiguous environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and deliver results under pressure. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Flexible to work in 24/7 rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
