The Supply Room is currently seeking an unqualified Nursery Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Derby, Derbyshire. This role will involve working with children in Nursery the Early Years Foundation Stage, to aid in their development and skills in their younger years.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a nursery or EYFS setting, as there are children who require personal care and academic support such as basic phonics. The right candidate will have a desire to work with younger children and show a real care and dedication to their wellbeing and safety.
You will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in delivering engaging and interactive activities for the children, as well as supporting their individual learning. You will be responsible for assisting the child with their mental wellbeing and being an understanding and compassionate individual, comforting and supporting the children through their emotions. you will begin in this role on a 1:1 basis with a child with complex needs, however once the role develops into the afternoons, you will be working alongside a speech and language therapist to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
This role will follow a 8:30 – 15:30 day, 5 days a week, with a pay rate between £85 and £95 per day.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years minimum Nursery experience
• Previous SEND experience would be advantageous

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum grade C in Maths and English GCSE
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (CPD Certified)
