We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Upholsterer to join our production support team. The Upholsterer will be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, and creating custom upholstery for a variety of furniture items such as chairs, sofas, and other seating pieces. Your craftsmanship and expertise will ensure that our clients receive high-quality, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing furniture. Requirements · Perform upholstery repairs and restoration on residential and commercial furniture, including but not limited to sofas, chairs, cushions, and ottomans. · Measure, cut, and sew fabric, leather, or other materials to create custom upholstery designs. · Replace worn-out materials, including padding, springs, and fabric, to restore furniture to its original or improved condition. · Apply various techniques such as tufting, buttoning, and pleating to enhance the appearance and functionality of furniture. · Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. · Collaborate with other team members, including carpenters and designers, to complete large or complex projects. · Ensure timely completion of projects while meeting quality standards This list is not exhaustive, and responsibilities may be subject to adjustment based on the evolving needs of the business. QUALIFICATIONS: · Proven experience as an Upholsterer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. · Knowledge of various upholstery materials, fabrics, and techniques. · Strong sewing and stitching skills, including proficiency with industrial sewing machines. · Ability to interpret blueprints, patterns, and design specifications. · Good understanding of furniture construction and repair techniques. · Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work. · Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. · Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy furniture. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to lift and move heavy furniture pieces and upholstery materials up to 50 pounds. · Must have the ability to use hand tools, sewing machines, and other equipment with precision and skill. · Ability to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods while working on furniture. · Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, such as sewing and lifting, over the course of an entire workday. · Ability to maintain balance when working with large or heavy items that may require maneuvering on uneven surfaces. · Must have the ability to distinguish colors and patterns, as well as read blueprints, patterns, and fabric labels. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with occasional weekend assignments. This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Cigarette Holdings, LLC is an EEO Employer.
