Description We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Teacher Assistants for our Pre-K Classroom the 2025-2026 school year. STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt LOCATION: Mamaroneck Central Elementary School in Larchmont, NY PAY: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour HOURS: 8:30 am - 1:30 pm SCHEDULE: 10 months (aligned to district calendar) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applicants should possess motivation and creativity, demonstrate a positive demonstration of strong interpersonal communication skills, be active in working within a team, and consistently demonstrate punctuality and attendance. Assist the Lead Teacher with the classroom's appearance, décor, and learning environment. Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment for children that is clean, safe, stimulating, and appropriate for each child’s developmental level. Assume an equal share of the staff's housekeeping responsibilities. Meet and maintain licensing requirements for the ratio. Assume the role of leadership in the absence of the Lead Teacher. Interact with the children using developmentally appropriate practices. Ability to manage the classroom through positive redirection, problem-solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening. Support Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of lesson plans. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. An associate's degree in education or a related field is preferred. Childcare: 1 year (Preferred). Classroom management: 1 year (Preferred). Teaching: 1 year (Preferred). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting and carrying children. Close contact with children. Direct supervision of children. Assisting children with toileting and hand washing. Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities.
