UPMC is seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals to join our Environmental Services Float Pool, serving across multiple hospital campuses in Oakland—including UPMC Mercy, Montefiore, Magee-Womens Hospital, Presbyterian, and Shadyside. In this vital position, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while gaining exposure to a variety of hospital settings and teams. There are varying shifts available!

Responsibilities


    • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.



      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      • Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
      • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
      • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
      • Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
      • Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
      • Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. assigned.
      • Remove trash from all assigned areas.
      • Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to ensure adequate supply.
      • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
      • Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
      • May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
      • No contact with medications is allowed.
