Position: Upper School History Teacher Reports to: Upper School Principal                        Position type:  Contract - 10month School Year Position Summary:                                                                                             Teach students (9-12) in World History and AP World History in a classroom setting through a kingdom mindset and a biblical worldview. As a ministry of FBC the mission of CCS is to inspire students and families to follow Jesus. QUALITIES + QUALIFICATIONS Uphold Biblical priorities through a growing personal relationship with Jesus. Become an active member of FB Concord or be an active member of a local like-minded bible teaching church Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church. Encompass the qualities and characteristics of Concord staff members as outlined in our Staff Values. Bachelor or higher degree in History or equivalent degree, Master’s in History is preferred Teaching Experience preferred ACSI teacher certification – able to obtain upon hire 1stAid/CPR certification preferred – able to obtain upon hire       RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, prepare and deliver traditional classroom and online instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences Have experience with AP or Duel Enrollment classes and effectively teach them on campus. Establish & maintain appropriate & effective classroom management procedures Develop a rapport with students that motivates & fosters enthusiasm for learning Creatively integrate technology in the classroom to enhance learning Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve subject matter, grade-level and school goals Provide appropriate feedback on student work in a prompt and timely manner Maintain accurate & complete records of student progress & attendance in FACTS/SIS Maintain up-to-date lesson plans via administration approved channel Participate in a multi-night overnight 9th-12th Retreat (typically in August) Provide leadership for other overnight trips as requested Professionally communicate necessary information regularly to students, team members and parents regarding student progress and disciplinary matters Comply with all  policies, practices and procedures Work with Upper School Principal to ensure smooth running of the program Work to ensure that confidentiality is maintained by faculty and staff as it pertains to student discipline, academic struggles or staff issues Participate in other CCS events as assigned or requested by Principal or HOS WORKING CONDITIONS Typically, a 5-day work week in a classroom setting.
