Upper School Instrumental and Vocal Music Teacher To Begin August 2026 The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a Part time Upper School Music Teacher to begin in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Position Overview: We are looking for an outstanding and dedicated Upper School Music Teacher who will engage and inspire students, foster strong communication with parents and colleagues, and contribute to our mission of developing students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens. Responsibilities: • Excites and inspires students in music • Prepares classroom materials and lessons to effectively support student growth • Directs at least one high school band and several middle school bands using a combination of musical theory instruction and band direction • Oversees special school assemblies and evening programs featuring several performance groups • Launches a vocal ensemble • Adapts teaching methods and materials to meet the skill levels and interests of students Qualifications: • Experience teaching music • Bachelor's degree is required • Master’s degree is preferred Why Join The Leffell School? Responsibilities
The teacher will instruct students in instrumental and vocal music, including directing bands and launching a vocal ensemble. They are also responsible for preparing lesson materials and overseeing school assemblies and performance programs.
