Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Upper School Social Studies Teacher who will teach a range of social studies courses while intentionally integrating biblical truth and a Christian worldview into all aspects of instruction. This teacher will guide students in understanding history, government, economics, and culture through the lens of Scripture, equipping them to think critically, live faithfully, and engage the world for Christ. Key Responsibilities: Develop and teach social studies curriculum for high school students, including courses such as U.S. History, World History, Government, and Economics. Integrate Christian principles and a biblical worldview into lessons, discussions, and analysis of historical and contemporary events. Encourage students to evaluate cultures, societies, and historical movements in light of Scripture and God’s redemptive plan. Foster critical thinking, civic responsibility, and a Christ-centered understanding of leadership and citizenship. Assess student performance through assignments, projects, presentations, and exams, providing timely and personalized feedback. Lead students in thoughtful discussions about faith, culture, and current events, helping them develop a Christ-centered perspective on global issues. Promote a classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue, academic excellence, and spiritual growth. Organize and participate in extracurricular activities such as academic clubs, service projects, or mission opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the school’s academic program and spiritual mission. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Experience teaching social studies at the high school level, preferably in a Christian school setting. Strong knowledge of historical content, civic structures, and economic principles. A vibrant, growing personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to engaging social studies in ministry. Ability to integrate faith and learning in a meaningful Christ-centered way. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students. Active involvement in a local church.
