Job Details Job Location: Charlotte Campus - Charlotte, NC 28277 Charlotte Latin has an immediate need for Upper School substitute teachers. Key responsibilities include: Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning Teaches the lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher Displays the ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies Implements as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school Serves as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive, respectful manner. Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning students, parents, and members of staff Leaves a written note to the absent teacher summarizing lessons and any related student/parent concerns Qualifications Previous experience working with and supervising children College education preferred A commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community is essential Adheres to the standards of professionalism Latin expects employees to have a philosophical alignment with our core values, curriculum, and instruction listed on our website: www.charlottelatin.org. Working Conditions and Environment Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds. Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders. Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures. Ability to work long or odd hours, as needed.
Responsibilities
The Upper School Substitute Teacher maintains a conducive classroom environment and teaches the lesson plan provided by the absent teacher. They are responsible for implementing school routines and serving as a positive role model for students.
