Description Help Middle and High School Students, in the absence of the Primary Teacher, to learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians, to the praise and glory of God, in keeping with the Mission Statement of Indian Rocks Christian School. Essential Functions: Reflect the school's purpose: Honor Christ in every class and activity. Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith. Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ. Cooperate with Indian Rocks Christian School and Indian Rocks Baptist Church Administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the school's operation. Implement lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher or Administration to ensure the continuity of the curriculum. Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian Philosophy of Education throughout the activities. Maintain proper discipline in the classroom and school premises for an orderly learning environment. Ensure the Safety and security of students at all times. Work cooperatively and effectively with the grade level team members. Leave a detailed report for the regular teacher regarding the day’s activities, student behavior, and any issues that arose. Incorporate various instructional strategies that will provide creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional. Follow Biblical principles in dealing with students, parents, staff, and Administration in a positive Christian/Biblical manner, including all conflict resolution matters following the proper line of authority. Requirements Candidate requirements: Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate’s degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Prior experience working with children in a preschool or elementary educational setting is preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, lesson plans, and procedure manuals. Ability to write required reports and correspondence effectively. Cultivate an ongoing cooperative relationship between church, school, membership and community. Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks Must be willing to become an active member Indian Rocks Church, attending worship services, participating in a Life Group, serving in a ministry, and supporting stewardship in faithful tithing Responsible to perform the other duties as assigned and approved by supervising personnel to include, but not limited to: Head of Schools, Principals. Lead Pastor, and Church Administrator.
