Description
Description Shippers create the first impression of quality for CF customers as they receive our product shipments. The UPS Shipper is responsible for locating and picking parts, labeling, and preparing product for shipment. The UPS Shipper prepares small orders for freight, express or parcel post while complying with internal quality procedures to meet customer delivery requirements. They may also assist with larger shipments including loading and unloading trucks as necessary. Attention to detail, problem solving, teamwork and a strong work ethic are essential in our fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBLITIES Operate all equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits. Maintain a safe and clean working environment including complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Pick orders from stock or staging areas by hand, hand cart, or pallet jack. May occasionally use a sitting fork truck or standing cherry picker. Prepare products for shipment to customers including affixing the appropriate labeling. Pack product in the appropriate box, crate, bag, or shrink-wrap as required for the type of material being shipped. Verify the quantity and quality of materials picked and packaged for accuracy. Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct. Affix complete address labels and any other special labels required for the handling of material as specified by the carriers. Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials placing it in the appropriate locations. Maintain complete and accurate paperwork. Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse environment preferred. Prior experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment is preferred. Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform measurements. Basic computer skills to accurately gather and input data from computer programs such as UPS WorldShip, Amazon Seller Central or similar e-commerce platforms, and an internal ERP system. Capability to lift 50 lbs with regularity and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50 lbs with regularity and up to 100 lbs occasionally May operate and/or use forklifts, cranes, hoists, slings, saws, hand tools, banders, and instruments of measurement. Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to gather and input information on a computer. Use of a scanner to move material through warehouse locations and make inventory necessary adjustments. Regular and reliable attendance. Exposure to noise, sparks, smoke, fumes, and chemicals in a production environment.
